Consultation (Diagnosis)
Before the operation, in order to meet the expectations of the patient in a correct way, a program is created with the expert dermatologist and hair transplantation team, taking into consideration the patient's health history (whether there are any factors that may hinder the growth of hair follicles after hair transplantation) including necessary laboratory tests (Hemograme, Anti HIV, Anti HCV, HBsAg) , APTT, prothrombin time etc.). The diagnosis period varies between 20 minutes and 45 minutes. If the patient comes to face-to-face interview after filling completely the information form in digital environment, the diagnostic phase may take less time.
In particular, in order not to face any problems in putting into risks the patient's health (not to jeopardize), laboratory tests should be performed. The results of these tests, which are examined in the biochemical laboratory of Lifemed Medical Centre, are delivered to the related physician in a short time and in case of no contrary case, the test and analysis process is started for hair transplantation.
Hair Transplant Disease Analysis
- Fundamentals that should be known before practice period:
- The patient should inform his / her doctor if any medication is already being used.
- The patient should not have his hair cut before the operation.
- He should inform his doctor if he has already any allergic illness that he knows or anticipates.
* No hair transplant practice on patients with hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, hemophilia and cardiac patients in our clinic.
Test & Analysis
During the test and analysis process, the hair line where hair transplantation operation will be performed is determined. The hair and skin examinations are realized. In harmony with the patient's head structure and face ratio, the temple, anterior or vertebral region is filled. Determining the hairline that varies from person to person is of great importance in terms of a natural appearance after the operation. After that, an evaluation is made for the average number of grafts. The number of grafts estimated that can be obtained provides clarification of the operation time. Following the patient's decision on performing the hair transplantation process, the confirmation sheet is filled out. The confirmation sheet should be read carefully and filled in precisely.
- The main criteria that are particularly considered during the testing and analysis phase are;
- The number of grafts to be collected from the donor site,
- The determination of which region hair transplantation will be performed in and how much hair follicle will be planted,
- The point and shape of the forehead line.
Operation
The patient is taken to the hair transplantation room and then he wears a special sterile operation clothing. After that, he lies on the stretcher in the prone position and the procedure is started. As it is a sedated procedure, the patient does not feel any pain or complaint. That is, he can ever watch television or listen to music on this lying position in the room. Because it is a long term process, a break is given during the operation process. Meanwhile, the patient may eat something upon request.
After the patient is in the prone position, the head region is disinfected for sedation. Then anaesthetic medicine is introduced. The sedation effect is observed in 15-20 minutes.
Grafting is performed by two different auxiliary mechanisms. In this collection process realized by micro motor FUE and Manuel-punch, hair follicles are loosened for ''collecting'' purposes by taking the nape of the neck as a base and it is performed in a way that does not cause any harm to the skin & cell structure.
The collected roots are taken to the petri dish to be separated from unnecessary tissue pieces. Note: It is necessary to store the hair follicles in a cold area in order to keep follicles alive until the planting process time and avoid any damage. Healthy hair follicles separated from tissue pieces are placed on a gauze patch.
The channels where the planting will be recognized are opened. The more hair follicles collected for transplanting, the more channels will be opened.
Which points should be taken into account for the grooving process?
• Hair follicles should be planted in opened channels at an angle of 30 degrees for the natural appearance and a depth should be obtained according to the structure & size of the roots. In order to avoid the unnatural appearance known as "grass head", the slope of the hair roots must be made towards the face. Therefore, the attending specialist -doctor- experience is of great importance.
• Direction of the grooves is directly effective for the hair to lie to the right or left, to be fell (i.e. perpendicular) or to be at the front. Therefore, it is necessary to act rather meticulously about the direction of the channel.
The transfer of hair follicles to the opened canals takes approximately 1-2 hours. After planting, it is necessary to treat the hair follicles quite delicately. You can access detailed information about post-procedure hair care on our "Patient Following Page for Post-Transplanting ".
